From my Bangkok trip, I also did some Wall painting at Sugar Lust cafe (Sukhumvit26) with a lot of help from my friends that's why this wall finish in 5 hours. Using more colors this time :)

I think one of my greatest achievement is this tattoo on my friend's body. Can you think of anything better? This tattoo going to stay on his body until the end. I draw Nightingale which I think it's suit him well. The tattoo is now on his back and the size is rather small, which is good, the tense of the black some out better this way.

I just back from a month trip in Thailand, well, lots of things happening and so much to tell you about. I just got back to London town few days ago. Have a few project I have to finish. One of them is something for Instyle magazine in Russia and that's involving Russian Typography!! How challenging !

Right, I will post more about some works and photo next week.

Wall painting at D&AD award, Young blood after party

What a great night in Summer!

I had been invited to do Wall Painting at Glug/D&AD award after party at Vibe Bar , Brick lane in London. Of course I say "yes" right away, why not!? And it turn out to be such a great night as expected. Thanks to all my friends, fans and everyone who support me !!

To be honest, I didn't prepare much for the events , not because of laziness but I'm better with raw, fresh idea , a bit rough and I like to make some mistake.

For me, Wall painting is about the feeling I get from this space, the crowd, atmosphere. So I did some rough sketch on paper quickly just before started but the trick of some collage did help me work quicker so I get to enjoy the party as well

Flower Pattern

Hello!!!! I know..I've been gone dark a little while again. I actually just came back from a blast trip in France, then my friend came over to London from Bangkok so i took him around town last week. Now , consequences, I'm working over the weekend.

These flower pattern is the newest piece I just finish right at this minute. I've change from uni-ball pen to Calligraphy pen I bought from Japan big while ago, the result is quite different from my other works. I assume it must be because of this pen, I got really excited talking about this pen....Thing is, it's gave me more depth in drawing, stroke are not so easily to control but it will get easier like everything else in the world.

This piece will be include in Fashion illustration book and perhaps a packaging for some other clients, not sure about that yet but surely will keep you posted.

Word play

Another good thing about New York trip is that I can made a visit at 7th floor of impressive New York Times building to see this Word Play Exhibitions.

Word Play Exhibition organized by New York Times magazine, The collections of all typography-illustrations from Language sections in their magazine. My one is just one among other 200 respectful artists, Craig Ward, Sean Freeman, Alex Trochut, HelloVon, Melvin Galapon...to name a fews.

I'm not sure if it's still on right now but feel free to make a visit if you are in the city.

New York ! New York

Have you been to New York? It was my first time to Big Apple and now I kind of understand why people love it over there. Great food, Nice city plan, Amazing Central Park and energy of people over there seems like 120% to me. I am happy. I am happy being there.

Not much of sight seeing though, it's purely work and meetings this trip. I got around 20 meetings in a week plus night life with friends so it's pretty and now I'm so exhausted. Work wise going well I assume. I had met so many great creative people in design company, thanks to them for such a warm welcome!!! I'm flattered and amazed.

Definitely going back there soon, now it's time to continue some works over here.

I know I've been lack of update for little while.
Well, As posted that I'm going to NYC this Sunday, I am on mission of drawing 8 illustrations before I go so it's kind of snow under with works here.
A few projects I'm doing right now can't review here just yet, BUT it's going to be something quite different from what I normally do, less girly and more of grown up.

This year is now officially my travel year, after NYC , I will go to France then to Thailand and perhaps Germany later on this year. Last year had been too much of cabin fever and extremely hard works so I guess everyone needs some balance, well...atleast me. I want to do something different, collaborate more projects with other artists, change the medium of works so I think seeing the world, finding some inspiration would help.

Image here is just one element of what I'm working right now, just one, dear..just one. so imagine massive details of 5-6 elements combine to one illustration... stay tuned.

First of all, He's a DJ and his music is rock!! ah...no... it's not Rock as in Rock n Roll in contrast, his music is more of Electro, check out his Djing here. I really enjoy listening while working.

Working with Peter Chadwick at Popular Uk for these Poster is a joy. He's brilliantly helpful with all Art-Direction. The final idea is to have a simply beautiful red lips , black and white typo which made from smoke but still have to fit for Seb logo. I heard that lips and smoke with be printed out with spot vanish, ah..yum.. I just wanna have one in hand.

Right now I'm working on a couple things, first is 3 original drawing for a Fashion illustration show in L.A , will show you once it's finish.
And also I'm doing some small but fun project with Kiehl's and Liberty - well, can't say more right now but surely will keep you in the loops.

I know now the internet take over the world and that everyone can see all the works online but I can tell you , that's make book/magazine even more value. I like the weight / touching the paper / flipping page by page and always can read whenever I want. Massive thanks here to Liz and Olivia for their hard work.

Finally these 2 books is out! There are some of my works in there.

So far, there will be 4-5 more books coming out later this year, I will keep you posted.

Right now, I'm working on many personal projects, There will be Scarfs, a few exhibition in USA and Japan, collaborated piece with my typographer friend and so on. It's so good to have some week doing commercial 's works and then have sometime to do some personal pieces which is always give me freedom to explore new style.

MTV Hidden World S/S10

Well , I've been telling you before about MTV project that I've done last year. Now I can shout about it. Me and 3 other Artists ( Emily forgot, Ray Smith) were selected for a great MTV commission - to evolve and create artwork for the 2010 MTV Female Fashion Style Guides.

The project called MTV Wonderland and my theme is "Hidden World" Basically it's all about look closer on things that normally you not notice and focus on detail / pattern / nature.

It's really fun while I'm doing it because I got a chance to draw and using mix collage on something that not my usual subject. The key words include Fossil, Diamond, mountain, crystal, space and so on...just anything you can imagine.

For me, what make this project really interesting is that I got to draw individual images that works on its own about 15 items and I got to use only those item create 5 illustration / 4 pattern / 4 borders and badges. It's not my typical way of working but surely it's challenging, the process contain of lots of mood board, sketches, revise, conference meeting, a few presentation but every step is fun. Thanks to MTV and The Gild to give me a chance doing something nice.
I'm really happy with it. A/W10 collection will show it here soon.

Collaborated with super talented Sean Freeman

Back in late 2009, me and Sean were thinking to do some piece together when we have free time. You know the sort of project that release our creativity without any brief / deadline.

It was good time while we were doing it. Basically, We came with the idea of using mountains I hand-drawn making it to Typography , that's a good combination of us and we couldn't have done it on our own.

We will definitely do Screen printing this piece and sell it somewhere, will keep you posted here

Hello 2010 , kick start this year with snowy in london town. I hope this year will full of exciting things, lots of commission work and hopefully lots of play time so I can some skill of 3D, screen printing and collaborate with good folks whom I admire their work. New piece is a Poster for Blue Carpet Seminar, Conference event in Bangkok, Thailand next month.

This piece I created by hand-drawn , those little dot detail look better if you scale them bigger.

The next project line up are, Glamour Magazine (Germany), Flash Trash typography, Spot the tiger, The personal project with Sean Freeman...and Live! Wall painting in collaborated with Jira Koo at Glug event in Brighton on 13 th Nov. , again more details to follow.

Then I'm off for holiday on 16th Nov for one full month without any commission work, don't worry - Sketches book and water color are my best friend in these occasion so expect to see more personal work before xmas.

I've come up with the idea of drawing those people and using optical art to link between them, Well, The op arts is as mental as creativity I thought.

Well, what it's for is still confidential but here are more close up photos , thanks to Stuart Whitton who come up with a cool name, check out his site if you got 5 mins, his works are pretty cool too.

Today I try to finish the last one to complete the series, well easy to guess though, it's got to be Crazy Triangle to fit in. Image of the making of... deserve to be on my site soon.

What make me excited this week :
1. The 3rd illustration of these series which now are 75% finish and I very happy with the outcome, bear in mind all this is original hand-drawn

2. I have new Project with Sean Freeman, my good friend and super talented artists. The project with him is going to be great adventure. I'm look forward to start the project next week.

3. Hooray!!! Finally I got an intern who will be my assistant for a while, she will start helping me out next week including update this blog more often, website, regular newsletter and so on.

All these really make me smile.

Need a name for new works

Here is some snap shots of my newest work which I'm still cooking, coloring , paper cutting and doodle around. There will be 4 pieces all original hand-drawn. It's such a good feeling to come back to my old route and not use any computer. One problem and challenging part is that I can't really undo it.

This is the 2nd pieces I'm doing , basically it's like I'm zooming in to abstract shape and bits of Willy Wonka's world. This 4 pieces will be put on a group show which I'm not allow to talk about it yet but sure it will be the big show and you here will be the first to know. I need a name for the series, brainstorming is always good so come up one and email me if you want to be part of it.

Other than that, Apologise for not updating the main site and no newsletter send out for a little while now, I'm waiting and dying to show the new big projects that I spent the last 2 months doit and love it. But as you know... it's still confidential at these stage, hopefully soon you will see those 20 new works that hide in my drawer right now.

Also , what I can tell is I'm doing a pitch projects, Poster for East End play and illustration for Freya Olson new website. All these should be able to show you next week or soon as it's launch.

The first image top here are my new works for Wall Installation at the Exhibition which quite large, plus there will be 4 works and 1 new illustration for the show.

Woohoo!!!! After hard working hours with this campaign for VW finally it's all pay off.
I've been to Kite festival for the launched of VW Caravelle and California which my illustration are all over the van and use in banner. The Van itself are pretty cool too. I've never know you can have 2 bed in a van. Perfect idea for camping. There will be more events coming up through out this summer. Update info please check here

Iris London also create this with some animation in VW website, pretty cute and well done.

Spring Break

It's good to work, It's even better to rest!
Last week was my holiday, so I made a trip to Cotswold, the beautiful country side in UK. with friends. It was lovely, peaceful and I feel like I recharge my battery.
Now I'm back to London, busy city. I try to get back on track of working. There're a few projects line up already. I'm pretty excited to start doing sth again.

I just happen to have sometime off for 2 week but can't sit still... so this is my new personal typography 's work.
Sometimes when doing so many commercial works , I need to follow the brief, deadline, etc... it's good fun but also I like to have sometimes develop new skills and do some works that excited me again. After considering The CC crisis we faced all over the world, what you need now is have Faith to yourself and other people.
I intend to print this as postcard as well, anyone want it? You can simply have 2 copies as I think sending postcard to your friend is something we not really have that a lot anymore. I like to encourage everyone write more letter, postcard not just email, go to post office buy stamp and send in traditional way... I'm sure you will bring the smile to your friends face :)

Finally it's out! Window7! Not that I have knowledge about Window but heard that it's pretty awesome with some new feature and also 72andSunny were commissioned me along with other 11 artists create all these new Wallpaper to use for Desktop, moblie, banner and stuffs.
I'm lucky to be one of the artists, many many nice designs from all artists can be seen here

I'm still here, In case someone wondering what a slow update. I've been working hard last month with VW ( which can review next month) , some editorial works, Aveda (USA, review next month once it's out)
Also I'll be appear in Computer Arts Magazine June Issue for Sketch works ( both process and finish works) so go grab one if you fancy.

Showing you here is new works with GQ magazine Italy, the article is about Sex. It should be out very soon, I am very happy with this 2 illus, haven't been drawing a girls for quite a while.

Hidden in my drawer right now is some new personal projects, lots lots lots will be about Typo and new style illus that I try to explore right now. I feel so good to have sometime doing something that will excited me.

Other than that, I'm doing Typography illustration for Blender, Editorial for magazine in Madrid, The Edge book for my agent in USA that I just finish, Editorial for F5 magazine in Russia and couple cover illustration for Cambridge Art school are line up...

A celebration of love’s subjectivity, the show embraces the challenge of interpreting this most complex of emotions through visual media.

Recently I had a bunch of email from Students who want to do my profile as their research, it's make me feel flattered and feel helpful. . .

Here is the Q & A that most of them asked me.

1. When were you born and where?

I was born in Bangkok, Thailand in 1981

2. Did you undertake any formal study and if so where?

Graduated BA Interior design in Thailand before relocated to London 6 years ago. I also studied FdA graphic design at London College of Communication for 2 years, During the time of studied here I did 4 work placement with Me Company, Idn Magazine ( hongkong) , Vivian Cippolla ( London) and start do a bit of Freelance before I graduated.

3. What were the major reasons you chose illustration as a career?

I did try Interior Designer for a short while and realized I didn't really like it. So changed to be Graphic Designer and Y&R followed by Grey Worldwide and found that was very boring for me then I came to studied in London and realized that how much i love to draw and everything here just inspire me. The main reason is that I think imagination is no limited so I just want to create one that in my mind.

4. How did you get started?

I start from doing free works, it was tough but good opportunity. Non-Format spotted me on and gave me my first commissioned. I start finding a job for myself and finally got an agent represent me and keep finding me a jobs

5. What techniques do you use within your art works?

I start from reading brief from client very carefully, having image in my head first. Start from drawing in paper using pencil/pen then fill the colors by felt-tip pen or computer or water color, depends on mood and brief and style that client want.

6. How do you descibe your illustration style?

I never thought about that. I think audience should tell me what they describe about my style. I just do what I like.

7. Would it be possible if you could give me a list of clients you are employed by?

My client is : Sony Playstation3, Non-format, Freya, SelectNY, Mercedes Benz, Sony Ericsson, Artful Dodger, Marc Jacob Perfume, the times newspaper, the guardian ..and more...

8. Is there any quirky information about yourself that you would like to share with me?

Mostly I don't do sketch or first draft works, I usually just go for it so sometime it's quite a pain to do some sketch send to client. I send them email describe about that I'm going to draw and I told them to TRUST me! and most of the time it's work!
